Nayara Springs

Set deep in the jungle canopy, the peaceful Nayara Springs hotel sits in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano, which soars 5,000 feet high and dominates the skyline. Nayara Springs is geared towards couples and families with older children (kids under 18 are not allowed), and the serene atmosphere is immediately felt. The hotel boasts 16 villas, each with a private garden, an outdoor shower and a terrace with a Jacuzzi (fed by natural hot springs). Each room also features air conditioning, a TV and there is WiFi throughout the entire property.

Nayara has a jungle setting, so birds can be heard from almost anywhere on the property. The spa features dozens of delightful treatments. Aside from the spa, wellness-seekers can enjoy daily yoga lessons, the resort’s small but well-equipped gym or afternoons spent leisurely by the infinity pool.

While the resort emanates a soothing vibe, the décor provides a punch of color and personality. The villas feature an eclectic mish-mash of décor, with zebra- print footstools, crystal chandeliers and vibrant woven hammocks adding flair to the charming resort. Dining options can be at any of the three restaurants on site or at the sister property Nayara Resort, Spa & Gardens.

Flor Blanca

Flor Blanca is a secluded retreat on Costa Rica's picturesque Nicoya Peninsula near the laid back village of Santa Teresa, which combines the comforts of a fine resort with the adventure of a tropical jungle hideaway and world-class surf.

Flor Blanca is located on 7 acres of beach, hidden among almond and plumeria trees. This romantic escape has ten luxurious villas decorated with an interesting combination of Balinese furnishings and local artwork. Each individual villa offers privacy while peaking out through the colorful tropical vegetation. Each one features a spacious open air living area with comfortable seating. The bathroom is creatively designed in a garden setting and the air conditioned bedroom is adorned with luxurious linens. There is a lovely two-tiered swimming pool with landscaped waterfall set amongst lush gardens, a bar, an alfresco restaurant, an art studio and a teak-floored dojo in the garden for yoga & Pilates. There is also a fantastic spa, largely constructed of bamboo, surrounded by waterfall filled pools and lush vegetation.

Guests can enjoy hikes to the nearby waterfalls at Montezuma, guided nature tours of the Cabo Blanco Wildlife Refuge, surf lessons, fishing and horse riding.
