Sojourn Explorers: Trek. Fundraise. Inspire.

1) Fantastic hit list! “24 Underrated Places to Visit Around the World”. In New York, go to Ellis Island instead of the Statue of Liberty. I will be on the island next week for the Explorers Club annual dinner. Being the daughter of immigrants, actually the only one in my family born on American soil, this excites me to no end! Click here.

2) Whoa! Logged another 105.20 miles in support of Stand Up 2 Cancer using my favorite training app, Charity Miles. Download here.

3) Celebration number two this week! Sojourn Explorers just hit 5130 Facebook followers! Thank you, so appreciative of the support 😉

4) Forelsket!!! That’s the head over heels feeling you get when you fall in love in Norway. It’s also the way I feel right now about my company, and our mission to curate experiences to serve the greater good. In case you’re curious, here are nine other descriptions of love from around the world. Spread the xo!

5) Aw, I feel so happy to share this one. Here is a great reason why I do not prescribe to age. This 81-year-old woman holds the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest female bodybuilder. She started pumping iron when she was 50, so inspiring: Watch this.

6) On the other end of the spectrum, you’re never too young either. Love this, “happiness lessons” for 8-year olds. 200 schools in England are favoring emotional intelligence over intellectual intelligence. Read more.

7) Some of our greatest weaknesses can become our greatest triumphs. They could, in fact, be what drives you to heights you never thought possible at the start. One of our most influential presidents didn’t let a severe case of childhood asthma and astigmatism stand in his way. Here are six great life lessons from Teddy Roosevelt.

8) A plug for watching more nature films; it will make you feel happy 😉 “According to the study results, those engaged in watching nature programming had significant increases in feelings of awe, amazement, wonder; curiosity, interest and wanting to explore. Conversely, feelings of nervousness, anxiety, fear and low energy were significantly lowered.Read more.

Nature holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual,
cognitive and even spiritual satisfaction.
